We took a couple of days off over the Labor Day weekend to visit Banff. It was a long drive but beautiful from start to finish.

Our first day in the park we visited Moraine Lake and had beautiful views of the lake from atop the Rockpile and along the shoreline.

Then we headed up to Sentinel Pass. It was a very cool hike but Chris was mostly super stoked about our mountain goat sighting. That last pic is a zoomed in shot through the binoculars. Thanks again for the binos, Dad!

It was a beautiful hike back down and the water in Moraine Lake looked even more crazy blue in the afternoon sun.

The next day we headed to Lake Louise which was even more breathtaking in the morning light. Chris was amped for our hike.

We did an epic hike this day past Mirror Lake and the base of the Big Beehive, then up to the teahouse at Agnes Lake. We saw pikas close up, right next to the trail which is something I’ve never seen before.

From there we headed to the top of Devil’s Thumb with epic views of Lake Louise and the Plain of Six Glaciers. We also saw another mountain goat! Or possibly the same one since we were just on the other side of the valley from Sentinel Pass. This time it was much closer.

Our final day we did one more shorty up Tunnel Mountain which has a nice little view overlooking the town of Banff.

Then it was back to Vancouver!
