This weekend we went to the Houston Rodeo for championship night on Saturday! We got to see the finals for all the events: bronco riding, steer wrestling, tie-downs, barrel racing and bull riding. It was a blast!
Tim McGraw was the musical act for the evening and it was cool to see him live but the stage really stole the show for me. It was a giant star that rolled into the middle of the arena and slowly opened up to reveal the band inside!
Watching Tim McGraw play on a giant American star at the Houston Rodeo really felt like peak Texas! Maybe a little too Texas for me.
It felt good to be back in Austin on Sunday! We caught the closing act at the Soco Stomp, a local mini-festival that C-boys puts on every year, right around the corner from our apartment. Standing up close to a simple stage is definitely more my speed and Uncle Lucius was fantastic!
We’ve got only five weeks left in Austin and we’re going to try to make the most of it!
