This weekend we headed up to The Caverns, a cave about an hour outside of Chattanooga that is also a music venue. Or half of it anyway. It was once a much bigger open space before it was split in two by a cave-in around 1200 years ago. One side of the cave has been preserved with some added lighting for guided tours.
At one point in the tour the guide turns off all the lights and then flips them back on section by section. The absolute darkness was pretty freaky!
The other half of the cave has been dug out to make room for a stage and audience.
It was very cool!
