Our trip wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Tasmania’s largest city, Hobart. One of the biggest draws to Hobart is MONA, the museum of new and old art. We upgraded ourselves to the “posh pit” on the ferry ride over with preferred seating and table side service in a furry little booth. A very cool building and interesting art. Worth a visit!

The weather didn’t cooperate with us the next day for our plan to see sweeping vistas from atop Mt Wellington. Instead we did a little trip to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. The flowers and especially the lily pads were in full bloom and they have a very nice Japanese garden.

The next stop and really the biggest highlight of our Tasmanian trip is Cradle Mountain!
