Silver Falls State Park

This weekend we did a short camping trip near Silver Falls State Park. On the way we hiked up to the Blue Pool at Tamolitch Falls. There aren’t any falls this time of year but the pool is filled year round by an underground spring. The hike along the McKenzie River was also beautiful and lined with enormous trees.

At Silver Falls we opted to do the full loop trail. The South Falls and North Falls at either end of the loop were especially spectacular, but the rain forest vegetation and smaller falls along the way were also very cool. It’s hard to capture the scale in these pictures but look closely to see the little people walking underneath South Falls and North Falls.

Another great weekend in Oregon!
