This weekend I had an extra day off for an Alma company holiday, Mental Health Day on May 3. I engaged in my preferred mental health break and headed to the beach! It started off as a typical May gray morning, but sure enough, right at noon the blue sky started to peek through.
Chris was up in LA for work this weekend and he doesn’t love laying out on the beach like I do. So I headed back up on Sunday. It’s a pretty quick train ride up to Carlsbad on the Coaster and it’s a beautiful empty beach. I also got to see an Osprey for the first time! I hung out in the same spot both days and I think I saw a male and a female. The females are lighter and larger, almost the size of a pelican. It was very cool to watch them circling and diving down but I didn’t see them actually catch any fish.
It was pretty hard to get good photos even though they were circling right above me!
