Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park is such a beautiful place! Our first day we did a short hike near East Glacier.

We stayed at KOA in West Glacier and that night they had a birds of prey exhibit! The next day we attempted the Going to the Sun Road but the weather wasn’t too cooperative.

Our second day didn’t start off too promising either but the fog burned off in the afternoon. We had some amazing views from our hike along the Highline Trail and from Logan Pass. Chris made it all the way to Grinnell Glacier!

We also saw some wildlife on the hike, including big horn sheep taking a stroll along our trail and a cheeky little chipmunk that tried to crawl up my leg.

On the way to our Airbnb in Superior we stopped by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) Bison Range. The protected land in the Flathead Indian Reservation was established by the U.S. Federal Government in 1908 and only recently returned to the CSKT in 2020. We saw bison, deer and pronghorn along the trail and could hear elk bugling in the distance.

When we got to Superior we had a few more deer waiting to greet us in the front yard. This leg of our trip is off to a great start!
